What KeepTik can save — and what it can’t

One page with the whole boundary, so a headline never promises more than the extension does. KeepTik saves what TikTok shows your browser; TikTok still decides what that is.

What KeepTik saves

A desktop Chrome extension that downloads the TikTok video or photo post you’re viewing, and posts you select from a profile’s Videos, Reposts, Favorites and Liked lists.

  • Videos as MP4, from the stream TikTok plays — without watermark
  • The highest quality TikTok offers (HD when available) or a more compatible H.264 file
  • Photo posts and slideshows, every photo as its own image
  • Batches from Videos, Reposts, Favorites and Liked, with preview, filters and sorting
  • One folder per batch, with custom file names that always keep the post ID
  • A status and reason for every post, exportable as CSV or JSON

What TikTok still decides

KeepTik reads TikTok with your own browser session. Liked and Favorites are private by default and can only be read when TikTok shows them to the account you’re signed in with. A profile owner can hide lists, and TikTok can limit requests or ask for a verification.

A list is called complete only when TikTok reports its end. If a scan stops early, KeepTik says more posts may exist instead of calling the backup complete.

Watermark and quality

KeepTik saves the video stream TikTok plays, which has no watermark, exactly as received — it doesn’t edit the picture. If TikTok offers only its watermarked download copy, the post is clearly marked, or skipped if you choose that in Settings.

Resolution depends on the source video: KeepTik picks the highest quality TikTok offers and shows the actual resolution and codec. It doesn’t promise 1080p, 4K or every post. Photos are saved as TikTok provides them.

Not supported

None of these should be read into a word like “downloader”.

  • iPhone, iPad, Android or any mobile browser
  • Private posts, or getting around logins and restrictions
  • TikTok Stories, LIVE, Collections or playlists
  • MP3 or audio-only downloads
  • Turning photo posts into slideshow videos
  • Cloud backup, sync between devices or automatic monitoring of creators
  • YouTube, Instagram or other platforms

Requirements

Desktop Chrome 116 or later. The extension needs Chrome’s downloads, storage and side panel permissions, and access to tiktok.com, TikTok’s media servers and keeptik.com.

Judge the fit by the list, not the headline.

If you need mobile, private posts, MP3 or cloud sync, KeepTik isn’t the right tool.
